Kitten Life Saving

This is Hawaii, and she needs a loving home! Sweet as apple pie, LOVES to be held and cuddled.

Came in my clinic critically ill, and the owner wanted her put to sleep because he didn't have much money, and didn't "have the time to nurse her back to health."

She was so dehydrated that I couldn't get an IV into her itty bitty veins. I had to place an intraosseous catheter, which is an 18-ga needle that is going directly into her bone marrow. Ouch I know...but it saved her life. The x-ray shows the placement of the needle. It looks huge in comparison to her tiny bone if that gives you an idea of her smallness.

She is now the bright, inquisitive, healthy kitten you see in the bottom photo.
